  29. Wrong.  You have given the Rockwell chipset command, he is asking about USR's. 
  30. AFAIK, USR modems always report DCE, never DTE.

  32. Furthermore, a command which only modifies NVRAM is of doubtful value, since 
  33. many (most?) programs default to starting from a known value, rather than 
  34. depending on whatever some flake may have in his NVRAM.  Win95 (not an 
  35. endorsement) is one example.
